Orphanage

How Concerned Are we about the Orphaned And Destitute?

Bethel India Orphage

Orphans are children whose parents are deceased or otherwise unable to care for them. Parents, and sometimes grandparents, are legally responsible for supporting children, but in the absence of these or other relatives willing to care for the children, they become a ward of the state. According to the statistic of UNICIF India statistic, in Indian alone there are about 25,700,000 orphaned due to many cause and reasons.

The Facts About Indian Orphans:

Every Day:5,760 Children become Orphans
To-day in the World: 143,000,000 spend an average of 10 years in an orphanage or foster home.

Approximately: 250,000 children are adopted annually.
Every day: 38,493 Children age out.
Every Year: 14,050,000 children grow up as orphans and age out of the system.

Approximately there are 12.44 million orphans, and close to 40 million destitute children live in India.
Each year, about a million new orphans are added to the society in India.
Little over 1,000 recorded inter country adoptions are taking place every year.

The Christian Perspective of Orphans and widows:

Be a Provider

When thou gather-est the grapes of your vineyard, thou shall not glean it afterward:it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless,and for the widow. (Deuteronomy 24:21)

Advocate:

Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. (Isaiah 1:17)

Be a faultless worshiper

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” (James.1:27)

God’s protection over Orphans:

Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child. If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry (Ex.22:22-23)
He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow…(Deut.10:18)

How are the Orphans treated presently?:

They drive away the ass of the fatherless; they take the widow’s ox for a pledge. (job.24:3)

How are the Orphans treated presently? :

They drive away the ass of the fatherless; they take the widow’s ox for a pledge. (job.24:3)

They pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of poor.(job.24:9)

God’s Loving Care for the Orphans:

Leave thy Fatherless Children , I will preserve them alive: and let thy widows trust in me (Jer.49:11)

Lord, thou hast heard of the humble:
thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: To judge the fatherless and the oppressed..(psalms.10:16-18)

Desperate Need-Study Hall

Bethel is in very urgent need of a “study Hall” for the use of our Orphanage children. We need $.15,000 for this project. And we need to start the construction in October and Complete it before the end of April 2011.

Presently, the children are sitting down to read and to write their home works. And eventually they fall asleep,only to score poor grades in school. This will doom their future. This need is a 14 year old one. We will be grateful if you can support this urgent need. Why can’t you let some one know that we have a need? We will be
extremely grateful. For more details write to the director at: bethelelg@gmail.com (or) call at: +914343-268144

Why Should you Help Orphans? What will you receive as a Sponsor? How and When does it all begins?
By helping an Orphan you are giving a new phase of life, changing the life of an Orphan holistic for ever.

You will have an opportunity to get a personal contact with the boy/girl you chose to sponsor, by the means of regular letters. And your child will pray for you, by name.

You will enable us to provide the children

  • Education
  • Good food & Shelter
  • Medical Care.
  • Skill Training
  • To grow in the grace, knowledge and personal Experience with Jesus.

You will enable Bethel to share the Gospel with the family and relatives of Orphans.

Bethel will provide you the complete details of the child you support, with his (or) her photograph and a full detail of his/her family and past history.
Birth day wishes, Christmas greetings and photographs indicating educational, sports and other developments.
And through regular letter interaction, you will build a very strong relationship with your child.
As soon as you decide to sponsor one or more kids either boy (or ) a girl, you will contact the Director of Bethel, with your mailing address, e-mail address and the Director will forward to you a “hello” letter from the child, with photograph and the history details of the child. Remember! it is 40$ a month per child.

You will write letters to your child once in 2 or 3 months giving the child the details of you, family, hobbies, children pets, garden etc.. Always send a decent family photo and the kids love them. The children will respond with a reply, giving their stories and this way we build a relationship.

You will not write directly to the child but will send it to the office of Bethel and we will help the child to read it and respond with an answer. Children who do not know how to read or to write will be helped by the warden of the Orphanage.

How Do I Give? Can I send Gifts to my Child? How Trust worthy is Bethel?
40$ (Fourty Dollars) a month (480$ per year)support keeps a child in the Orphanage for one full year.

You can choose to give till the kid reaches 15 years when one finishes 10th grade. And You can renew it later.

You can choose one child or more than one and it will be great that you support at least one full school year.

Since ‘paypal’ stopped charity services to India, there are only 3 ways are left. (1) you can send “bank check” in the name of “Bethel Evangelistic And Rehabilitation Centre”.
(2) You can send directly swift transfer to Bethel’s account.
(3) You can use www.xoom.com
Better contact Bethel For details.

When sending sponsorship to a child, use the name and the sponsorship code provided.

Yes! in deed! you can give special
Gifts to your child on his/her birth day, on Christmas season or on your birth day, wedding day. We have provide a list of gifts for you to choose and we will buy it for them. This is because, of a very high customs and import duties, gifts sent from your end will cost us a fortune.
* new dress
* School bags
* pens, pencils and writing books
* wrist watch.
* bi-cycle.
* shoes.
* trunk box
* blanket
* sweaters
* you can also send small packages with photos and pictures, books, stickers.

You can also visit your child in person and get on the field excitement and experience.

Bethel indeed is a trust worthy NGO. This is a Christ Christ Centered stewardship and we do every thing as unto the Lord, very honestly and faithfully.

Bethel keeps account books and we dispatch official receipts to every one as soon as we receive a donation. Except the paid servants and staff, all of us serve Bethel as volunteers. 85% of your donation reaches your child and his/her up-keeping.

Our accounts are audited by an external auditor and by other Indian Government agencies annually, and the statement of account sent to the Union Home ministry Income-Tax Department and to our sponsors on request.

Bethel is totally dependent upon the living God and His people for all it’s needs. We have not a single church (or) agency (or) organization funding us. We do not print donation books to collect donations and avoid donations from sources that conflict our faith and interests.

A School Van

Bethel Orphanage is situated in an isolated place in between two Schools separated by 1.6 k.m on each side and or kids go to 2 different schools. Our children have to cross the express way Chennai- Bangalore and once in a month fatal accidents kill people. And the inter state road to Andhra Pradesh runs right through our compound and there is a Catholic ladies college opposite to our Campus. Buses, cars, motor bikes are plenty in plight. More over the kids have to go to school at 8:30 in the morning, and they carry their lunch and school bags. It is difficult for us and for the children. We are praying for a Van. It will cost us about $.15,000. This also is an urgent need.
